Active Desktop Calendar 7.94

Active Desktop Calendar Editor's Review

Active Desktop Calendar is a beautiful program which can be used for storing notes, appointments, alarms, tasks and contacts. These are shown right over your desktop wallpaper and under your icons. This means that your usual work won't be disturbed in any way. Supporting repositioning and transparency makes it look very good.

You can configure the calendar, to show any month of the year. Each time you set a note on a specific date and time, a small pin appears beside that date over the desktop calendar. Each note is also displayed on the right side of your desktop on a transparent grey background. Of course, every colour and font is fully customizable so you can modify the program's looks so it will be just like you want.

The calendar also supports adding alarms which can be set to notify you by playing a sound. Snooze function is also available so you won't miss the alarm even if you don't hear it the first time it is triggered. The software also features a contact manager which allows you to add many details about each person you know.

I don't usually use this kind of software but this calendar convinced me. Although it looks very nice on my desktop, it doesn't use much memory and doesn't affect my system's performance.

Pluses: Active Desktop Calendar supports overlaying an image on the desktop and setting its position and transparency. Importing contacts from Outlook Express, Outlook Calendar, Windows Address Book and calendars from Google Calendar is also possible.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: This software will help you remember your appointments and tasks.
